The authors of the monograph \u2013 Helmutas \u0160abasevi\u010dius, R\u016bta Stanevi\u010di\u016bt\u0117, J\u016brat\u0117 Katinait\u0117, and Daiva \u0160abasevi\u010dien\u0117 \u2013 have identified as many as 67 operas featuring Lithuanian-themed narratives. These works were created from the early 18th century to the present day in Italy, Poland, Russia, Germany, France, the United States, Australia, and other countries.The publication covers a wide historical span \u2013 from Alessandro Scarlatti\u2019s opera-oratorio San Casimiro, r\u00e8 di Polonia to Constantine Koukias\u2019s opera Olegas, staged in Tasmania. Through the analysis of these works, the authors reveal how Lithuanian history, mythology, and their symbolic meanings have been interpreted across different cultural contexts and historical periods on the opera stage.
